The Resort..

The resort was created back in the early 1960's by a family that moved down here from Massachussets.   The name Sheldegren comes from the farm that the family owned which bordered three cities - Shelbourne, Deerfield and Greenfield.   We purchased the resort in 2003 and proceeded to renovate every section. 

The owners, Jes & Mary Ann Engelmann both grew up with all kinds of animals.  Mary Ann's parents raised & bred German Shepards and had a mini farm with horses, chickens, cats, dogs, and many others.  Both have a great love of all animals.

We currently help out  Lost Angels Animal Rescue (lostangelsanimalrescue.org) ,Basenji Rescue (basenjirescue.org) Greyhound Pets of America (Greyhoundpets.com), Safe Society of Florida (safesocietyofflorida.com) and Suncoast Animal League (suncoastanimalleague.net)
